UAV Flight Inspection

Aviation Renewables offers UAV services and GIS analysis for Airport Infrastructure and lighting installations. With a focus on delivering high-quality data and insights, we leverage advanced technologies, including UAV flight inspection, to enhance project planning and execution, including PAPI flight checks and commissioning. In partnership with an experience UAV Flight Inspection provider, our expertise ensures that our clients receive precise and actionable solutions tailored to their specific needs.

Features of UAV Flight Inspection

Methodology

Using a localized RTK network, we will survey the location of the 4 Light House Assemblies (LHAs). Our RTK connected UAV will then measure its elevation and distance from the assemblies along the approach path to within 1.5cm, providing assurance on the angle calculations and accuracies. Our pilot will use both a flight controller and a large external monitor to check color transitions.

Qualifications

  • Our experienced pilot holds an Advanced Operations RPAS License from Transport Canada & Aviation Authorities, and has logged over 100 flight hours in the last 18 months.
  • This work is conducted with professional grade survey equipment, drones and software at all times, and all aerial equipment is regularly inspected to Transport Canada specifications.

Deliverables

  • Measure transition angle of each of 4 Light House Assemblies (LHA)
  • Re-measure transition angle after LHA adjustment, if adjustment is required following initial measurement
  • Document the transition angle on runway centerline for each LHA
  • Document the Eye-to-Threshold Crossing height at runway centerline
  • Verify visibility at 15º horizontal angles for each LHA in either direction
