LED PAPI Systems Delivered for Remote Airports

LED PAPI Systems. Aviation Renewables delivered multiple solar-hybrid powered LED PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicators) for remote airports in the Middle East. Aviation Renewables worked with the Aviation Authority to design a unique solar-hybrid power system to ensure the LED PAPI units will operate in the challenging mountainous terrain year round.

Windsock Lighting for Surface Helipad at Canadian Hospital

Windsock Lighting Solution. Aviation Renewables has delivered a Solar Series Permanent LED Windsock Lighting for a surface helipad at a canadian hospital in Manitoba. The constructor was contracted to procure and install a permanent wind cone for the hospital that complies to ICAO Annex 14, Vol2, 5.1.1 for surface helipads. The addition of the new concrete helipad and the internally lit wind cone will provide the air ambulance pilots with a more visible and safe landing zone.

A runway-repaving project necessitated several threshold displacements over the course of several months. The Solar LED PAPI proved the ideal choice for cost-savings, ease of use and the ability to quickly move it as the project progressed.

Portable Airfield Lighting is Ideal for Unexpected Emergency Situations

Portable Airfield Lighting. Aviation Renewables has been awarded a contract to supply, deliver and commission two portable LED airfield lighting systems for a central East African Civil Aviation Department. Each portable LED airfield lighting system will consist of LED runway lighting, LED threshold lighting, LED taxiway lighting, LED REILs (Runway End Identifier Lights), LED PAPIs and remote control operating systems. The lights will be housed in portable trailers, which will charge, transport and store the portable LED runway lighting system. In addition to supplying portable LED airfield lighting, Aviation Renewables will be on-site to conduct technical training and commissioning for the civil aviation department personnel and airport operators in order to ensure safe operations, proper system deployment and routine maintenance schedules over the duration of the contract.

Retro Reflective Edge Light Markers for Taxiway and Runway Lighting

Aviation Renewables supplied the Government of NWT with extra tall 36” highly reflective edge light markers (RELMS) to add visibility to taxiway and runway lights in areas subject to large amounts of collected snow. These snowplow markers have reflective sleeves that are easily replaced when required to ensure long product lifespan. The easily installed reflective markers are a small investment to avoid costly damage of lighting equipment from snowplows.

Solar Airfield Lighting Operating at the Caribbean Private Airport

Aviation Renewables was awarded a contract to design, deliver product, install and commission a complete off-grid, autonomous solar airfield lighting and marking system at Carriacou Airport in Grenada. After careful consultation with the airport management team and Civil Aviation Authority, a complete ICAO compliant solar LED runway lighting system was requested for delivery within 7 weeks of award. The system consisted of Solar LED runway and threshold lights as well as an autonomous taxiway marking system for day and nighttime operations. This project was completed within the limited time frame and restricted budget.

Portable Airfield Lighting Operating at Canadian International Airport

Aviation Renewables delivered a portable airfield lighting system for Erik Neilson International Airport in Yukon Territory, Canada. The versatile system will allow the airport to maintain operations in case of an emergency outage of the primary lighting system. In addition, the system can also be deployed to other airports within the territory during construction operations, planned maintenance activities or disaster response airport exercises. The portable LED airfield lighting system charging trailers required a custom electrical charging solution compatible to both the international airport and remote regional airport infrastructure requirements. Training was carried out onsite for airport electrical staff, maintenance operators emergency crew personnel.

Aviation Renewables designed a custom windsock as part of a solar powered, emergency heliport lighting system in the UK. The system features a Solar Series LED Wind Cone that shares a common solar power system with a portable LED helipad lighting system, and radio controller. This emergency lighting system allows remote communities to be reached 24/7 by medevac helicopter, greatly enhancing emergency response times in these areas.

Aviation Renewables has been awarded a contract to supply portable airfield lighting systems solutions for an international airport in Northern Canada. After careful consultation with the airport management team, a portable LED airfield lighting system was designed, shipped and installed within 7 weeks for the runway-resurfacing project on the airport’s primary runway. The ICAO compliant portable lighting allows the airport to easily displace the threshold multiple times through different phases of the project.
